To ensure the Boltkill SMP remains a fun and safe environment for everyone, all players are expected to follow these rules. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for breaking them. These rules are enforced using mix of anti-cheat, log reviewing and manual server moderation.
Gameplay Integrity
We want every player to have a fair experience. Any attempt to gain an unfair advantage, break the gameplay loop, or ruin the experience for others will result in-game fines, jail time and even bans.
No block spamming: Block spamming (randomly placed blocks) can quickly clutter the landscape. Block spamming near spawn or other peoples claims will result in a penalty.
No Hacking or Cheating: This includes X-ray texture packs, fly hacks, auto-clickers, or any modified clients that give you an advantage.
No Exploiting: If you find a bug or a glitch in the game, report it to an admin. Using exploits for item duplication or world manipulation will lead to a permanent ban.
No Lag Machines: Building machines specifically designed to slow down the server performance is not allowed.
Player Interaction & Griefing
Respecting other players' time and effort is a core value of our community.
No Griefing: Do not destroy, alter, or deface buildings that do not belong to you, even if the land is not claimed.
No Stealing: If a chest isn't yours, don't touch it. This includes "unclaimed" bases you might find while exploring.
No Piling/Capping: Do not build structures around someone else’s claim to trap them or block their expansion. A good rule of thumb is to not claim within 5 blocks of someone else's boundary.
PvP Rules: Combat is allowed only if both parties agree to it. "Spawn killing" or hunting players who do not want to fight is considered harassment and will result in significant action.
Use the land claim system (Golden Shovel) to prevent disputes before they happen.
Chat & Social Conduct
The Boltkill SMP is a place for everyone. Keep the vibes positive and within ToS.
Be Respectful: Harassment, hate speech, racism, or bullying of any kind will result in an immediate and permanent removal from the server and Discord.
No Spamming: Do not flood the chat with repetitive messages, excessive caps, or advertisements for other servers.
Keep it Civil: While we allow light banter, keep the drama out of the public chat. If you have an issue with another player, use /ignore, and then contact a staff member.
Enforcement & Appeals
Our staff team has the final say in all disputes. Penalties can range from in-game fines to permanent bans. These are handled on a case by case basis.
For minor offences: Moderators will enforce a duration in the in-game jail, if you have the funds and the moderator allows it, you may pay bail to get out early. If you break the rules while you are on bail, this money is NOT returned and you will be taken back to jail.
For major offences: Should this occur, please visit our Discord to submit a support ticket. Our staff will review the evidence and discuss the next steps with you.
